Calla Liliy and Rose Cascade

It’s Wedding Wednesday!! This week we have a traditional cascading bridal bouquet.

It’s elegant and simple with only two types of flowers, red roses and white calla lilies, against a jungle of lush foliage, including pittosporum, fern, lily grass, seeded eucalyptus, and blades of dracaena and sansevieria. The foliage and flowers marry well to form beautiful flowing lines, blending the traditional style of a cascading bouquet with a more modern look.

Artistic Wedding Flowers

It’s Wedding Wednesday!! As promised, this week we’re sharing more from the beautiful wedding reception at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

The PAFA is such a unique venue with wonderfully eclectic art and the couple wanted to translate that into their reception centerpieces. Each arrangement was designed to be different from the others, while still lending a cohesive look throughout the venue.

The main reception room tables were adorned in beautiful white and green flowers. The feature flowers in the bouquets are white phalaenopsis orchids, green cymbidium orchids, casablanca lilies, white roses, ivory hypericum berries, and green hanging amaranthus.

In an adjoining gallery, cocktail tables had their own unique centerpieces as well, though they were designed in beautiful bold purples and greens. Green cymbidium orchids, green hydrangea, deep purple stock, lavender lisianthus, purple mokara and dendrobium orchids, and green hanging amaranthus were featured in these arrangements.

Throughout all the rooms amazing foliage was incorporated for a very lush and lavish look. Variegated pittosporum, zebra striped leaves, seeded eucalyptus, sansevieria, springeri, dusty miller, emerald, ti leaves, blades of lily grass and giant elephant ear philodendron are among the many varieties included in the centerpieces.

Finally, curly willow branches were used for texture and drama, curving over the tops of some arrangements and reaching for the sky in others.

Art was truly prominent throughout this reception, on the walls and on the tables. It was a true joy to design these unique arrangements for such a joyous occasion.

Cake at the PAFA

It’s Wedding Wednesday!! This week we’re sharing a beautiful and elegant cake from a wedding at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

The PAFA is an amazing facility with ever changing exhibits, so you never know which ones may be at your event, but they are all unique and add an artistic flair that will have your guests talking long after the reception is over.

The cake was placed in a room secluded from the main reception area where desserts were served in a lounge type area. The cake itself was a simple design; we adorned it with clusters of green cymbidium orchids, hypericum berries, hanging amaranthus, ivory roses and touches of ivy, springeri and blades of lily grass.

Spring Delight Wedding

It’s Wedding Wednesday!! We’re feeling very springy today! It may only be March 9^th, but it’s a warm 80 degrees in Philadelphia, PA today. Without getting too down about all the effects of climate change we’re just going to enjoy this beautiful day like we enjoy every day, with flowers!!

This week we have a lovely and large pastel bridal clutch bouquet. This gathering of pink hydrangea, lavender stock, white snapdragon, light & dark blue delphinium, hot pink matsumoto asters, solidego and yellow roses create a lush bouquet for a springtime wedding.

Springtime Flower Girl Basket

It’s Wedding Wednesday!! This week we’re bringing you a sweet little springtime flower girl basket.

The basket was brought to us by the bride; its green fabric was a perfect match to her bridesmaids’ dresses and the sparkling jewel was a lovely accent. We filled the basket with lemon leaf, baker fern, plumosa and a beautiful floral mix of orange roses, pink carnations, light blue delphinium, light pink spray roses, lavender stock, solidego asters and touches of artificial forsythia. While we do not typically mix fresh and artificial flowers the forsythia was offseason and a favorite of the bride’s. She was happy with the artificial alternative and we think it blended quite nicely. Tucked behind the basket is a bag of pastel rose petals for the flower girl to sprinkle down the aisle and it was finished with some white satin streamers… because every little flower girl loves ribbon streamers!

Purple & Green Wedding Delight

It’s Wedding Wednesday!! This week’s featured wedding was a true joy to design; between the wonderful couple and the opulent flowers they selected, we couldn’t have asked for more!

The bride’s bouquet was designed in beautiful bright green bells of Ireland, plum calla lilies, purple lisianthus, purple stock, white spray roses, purple mokara orchids, plumosa and seeded eucalyptus.

 
The bridesmaids bouquets were designed as miniature versions of the bride’s bouquet, sans the roses. The purple flora was the perfect pop of color against the girls’ verdant dresses.

Valentine Wedding

It’s Wedding Wednesday on Valentine week, so what could be more appropriate than a bridal bouquet of red roses?

We designed this wedding a couple years ago for a Valentine weekend wedding at the White Clay Creek Country Club in Wilmington, DE. We were working with Philadelphia radio station 94.1 WYSP (now 94.1 WIP Sportsradio), who gave away the entire wedding to the winning couple, who were married by radio personality Danny Bonaduce.

The bridal clutch is designed in beautiful red “Freedom” roses and accented by crystals. The rest of the bridal party also carried red roses and the reception was decked in romantic red roses and beautiful pink stargazers.

The dream wedding winners Justin and Becca were wonderful to work with and truly had the wedding of their dreams.

It’s Wedding Wednesday again already! This week’s bouquets soft and cool hues is beautiful for the springtime or winter bride.

Light blue hydrangea, pale lavender roses, light blue delphinium, and wax flower are gathered together into a beautiful bridal clutch bouquet. The blue thistle adds an extra textural element and the bouquet is finished with a collar of dusty blue seeded and traditional eucalyptus.

Fairytale Wedding

This week’s Wedding Wednesday we’re bringing you pics of some of our beautiful wedding designs from a ceremony and reception at the Cairnwood Estate in Bryn Athyn, PA.

Guests were greeted at the reception by a lavish bouquet on the card table.

What a beautiful facility! The Cairnwood Estate is one of three architectural gems in historic Bryn Athyn, situated among the Bryn Athyn Cathedral and the Glencairn Museum. We had the pleasure of doing some onsite decorating for the lucky couple that choose this as the place for their nuptials.


The wedding ceremony took place in front of the estate's beautiful entrance
and was flanked by two opulent floral arrangements.

They choose roses, lilies, alstroemeria, hanging amaranthus, bells of Ireland, and more blooms in oranges, whites and greens. Opulent foliage completed their look and the warmth of the orange hue complimented the soft colors of the mansion’s interior beautifully.



This fireplace mantel is stunning by itself, but add flowers and it's taken to a new level!

Between the stunning grounds of the estate, the rich details of the building and the lavish floral arrangements adorning the reception and ceremony this wedding had that true fairytale feeling!

The guests dinned in several rooms of the estate.

Hooray! It’s Wedding Wednesday! If you haven’t caught on yet, we’ve been sharing a wedding something almost every week for a few months now. We have the pleasure of designing wedding flowers for at least one happy couple every week at the shops; how could we possibly keep them all to ourselves!?!

This week’s Wedding Wednesday bridal bouquet is soft, elegant, pretty, and with its creamy neutral colors it’s well suited to many brides and many wedding themes, from the shabby chic to the classically elegant. This clutch bouquet was created with ivory and cream (almost peach) roses with velvety soft dusty miller. The foliage textures are further layered into the bouquet with seeded eucalyptus and feathery looking plumosa.

Petite Peony Bridal Bouquet

It’s that day of the week again… Wedding Wednesday!! This week’s bouquet is a petite bridal clutch of white peonies. It is so simple and sweet with a bit of pearl accent on it’s stems; it whispers of wedding romance.

Peonies are symbolically known as the flower of riches and honor. Their opulent, full, rounded blooms embody romance and prosperity and are considered an omen of good fortune and a happy marriage, making them a highly desired flower for many brides. They are the traditional floral symbol of China, the state flower of Indiana, and the 12th wedding anniversary flower.

Peak peony season begins in early spring and extends through late June, perfect for all those springtime weddings!

Rich and Romantic Bridal Cascade

This week’s Wedding Wednesday flowers are a cascading bridal bouquet designed in rich romantic hues of reds, purples, and pinks. Its length gives it an extra bit of elegance that you don’t always achieve in a round bridal bouquet.

The bouquet is designed in red roses, purple lisianthus, lavender dahlias, stargazer lilies, pink miniature calla lilies, pink miniature carnations and feathery soft pink astilbe. The foliage used includes baker fern, plumosa and burgundy ti leaves. The rich color of the ti leaves adds an extra layer of depth to the color scheme and their smooth surface juxtaposed to the fluffier floral petals adds textural interest. The bouquet is finished with a bit of purple ribbon, the color of the bridesmaids’ dresses, throughout the bouquet.

A Bouquet for a Diva

Another Wednesday means we’re talking about another wedding. This week’s Wedding Wednesday bouquet is a bit traditional and a bit modern.

Cascading bridal bouquets are a beautiful traditional style, but they’re not necessarily the current trend. This bouquet is a short cascade, so you get a bit of drama without feeling old fashioned, and the loops of sword fern in this bouquet give it contemporary flair and dramatic texture.

In addition to the sword fern this bridal cascade was created with white calla lilies, star of Bethlehem, white alstroemeria, bits of white hydrangea, bold and beautiful Casablanca lilies, cream carnations, tree fern and a little artificial ginestra. The gold statice throughout the bouquet was at the request of the bride, a self-described diva that said it was her day to shine! A fun addition to an all white bouquet.
